Commitment is in the air

You normally find "The One" right in front of your eyes. There Nick was, on the other side of a bar top, buying all my drinks. A story that you want to be riddled with romance, but more often than not it's more like two souls converging that never want to part. From the first day to my last day, no matter what happens in between, I like to believe that we will always be by each other's sides. In friendship, in massive life changes, in new discoveries, in joy and in health. In bumpy roads and late night arguments, in moments of contentment and depression, in moments of familiarity and confusion. I think one of the most beautiful aspects of a union is this belief of forever being supported by another soul. One supports the other supports the other, and so on, until the end of your time. Every relationship has its purpose. What's it is about us: we meet each other where we are at, we push each other where we need to grow, and we are not afraid to communicate. About all the things a human would need to communicate about. Nothing is too taboo. With this openness comes freedom that I am not sure many relationships get to feel. One of our friends looked at us and said, "You know, y'all have something special. Hold onto it." People have told us our entire time together: we are a relationship to look up to. I don't believe it's because we are perfect but, because we love fiercely, we are not afraid to show up for ourselves or the other and we are damn proud of it. We are, on our own, two powerful pillars of light and together create a coliseum worthy of a Queen. I hope you enjoy our celebration that we have created not only to celebrate us but also, to celebrate you, the ones that allow us to see more deeply into our self.
