We technically met at a party, but not the way most would think. Our first conversation was the two of us in a corner discussing what we wanted out of life and how we really didn't know specifically what the next step was. One thing we agreed on was that we each wanted to stay in the center of God's Will, whatever that might have been. Turns out, we were looking at it. Two coffee shop dates later, we started officially dating. This continued for fourteen months of living life as best friends who would serve together, worship together, cry together, laugh together, & love like Jesus together. The first few months were difficult; dealing with family loss - on both sides, changing friend circles, long work hours, job changes, moving, and college. In such a short amount of time, we had already experienced so much life together. We knew that the reason we were together was not that we fell in love, but because God placed us together. Even though we are in love with each other, it is God that has placed us in specific moments where our love for Him is what has brought us together. From our first conversation to every conversation after, we begin to realize how this could not have been done by us alone.
