Travel & Accomodation

We will be staying in a villa in Prines, just outside of Rethymno, and are planning on flying out on 23rd September. Our aim is to provide all the information you need to help you plan your trip and ensure your holiday is as enjoyable and stress-free as possible. Crete offers a wide range of hotels, villas, and Airbnbs that are excellent value, and we hope you get to experience the true Cretan style and culture-something we love and hope you will enjoy as much as we do! Accomodation We reccomend staying in or around Rethymno, as it offers lots of restaurants, bars, and accommodation, and is close to our venue (Agreco Farm) and pre/post-wedding events. There are two airports in Crete...detailed below:

Hotel

Theartemis Palace

A lovely hotel just outside of the Old Town in Crete, walking distance to restaurans/ bars with big pool. It’s also closer to our wedding venue and where we’ll be hosting pre- and post-wedding celebrations, making it a really convenient base.

Hotel

Ammos Suites

A family member has previously stayed here, right on the beach front and around 10-15 minutes walk from the Old Town centre. Good as a base if wanting to explore the area. Lovely aparthotel with plenty of shops and bars nearby.

Hotel

Petradi Beach Hotel

A small hotel right on the seafront, about a 15-minute walk from Rethymno Old Town. Good value for money too. It’s still close to our wedding venue and the old town parts of Rethymno where we’ll be hosting pre- and post-wedding celebrations, making it a good base.

Flight

Chania Airport

Approximately 1 hour from Rethymno. Flights from Manchester, Newcastle, East Midlands, Leeds and most London airports fly into both Heraklion and Chania airport.

Flight

Heraklion Airport

1 hour 10 mins from Rethymno Flights from Manchester, Newcastle, East Midlands, Leeds and most London airports fly into both Heraklion and Chania airport. We’ve previously flown into both Chania and Heraklion, but both airports are similar in distance and just as convenient.
