Jordan is an exceptionally safe country and there should be no safety issues, despite the war next door. However, there are still rules and customs to follow to respect the culture and protect yourself. You will see check points - this is not a concern. It is for safety. Your vehicle may be checked when entering certain parking garages. You may experience people coming up to you asking for money - ignore this and walk away Traveling in groups of 2+ people at night is customary. Women should not be out alone late into the night, as this can viewed as inappropriate.

It’s an Arab wedding! Go all out! It is not necessary to be overly modest at the wedding. Gala attire is typically worn.

Alcohol is available in Jordan. Things to keep in mind: 1. Some hotels will not allow you to bring in alcohol, even if you are sleeping there. Bags will be checked and any alcohol found will need to be thrown away, or taken back to your car. 2. Please be mindful of your environments and not get overly drunk to respect the culture.
