Guests staying on site

Answer

Check in for the accommodation is between 4pm – 7pm on Monday 7th July. From the venue; “Please let us know in advance if you are going to arrive later than 6pm. We cannot guarantee there will be anyone to show you down to your cabin after 7pm so we urge guests to arrive within these times. If there is more than one car in your party we ask that all cars arrive together – maximum 3 cars per cabin or wing of the house” Check out time is 10:30am on Wednesday 9th July. Check in and out is done at the reception based within the Hidden River Café. Please note there are no locks on bedroom doors.

The Night Before.. Pre Wedding Mingling

Answer

If the weather is kind to us on the evening of Monday 7th, we’ll be having a relaxed drink or two out in the courtyard after you’ve had a chance to settle in and grab something to eat. We’ll be there from around 6:30pm-ish, and we’d love for you to join us for a bit of pre-wedding catching up - but of course, no pressure at all if you’d prefer a quiet night!

Food & drink for guests staying on site

Answer

All on site accommodation is self catered, so please feel free to bring your own food and drink for the evening prior/ morning of/ morning after the wedding. Each property’s kitchen has a fridge, freezer, washing machine, microwave, a small amount of tea and coffee making facilities, oven, hob, toaster, iron and ironing board. They provide each of guest with a bathrobe and bath towels for their stay. There is an on-site restaurant ( Hidden River Cafe ) serving breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. Food throughout the day of wedding

Answer

Please make sure you have a large breakfast/snacks before heading to the barn for the ceremony, as there will be no food available until the wedding breakfast at 3pm. Please do not bring your own food out of your accommodation to the wedding venue as this will result in us loosing money from damage deposits.

What type of food will be served at your wedding?

Answer

For the wedding breakfast you will have a main of twice cooked beef with buttery mash, bourgignon sauce & seasonal vegetable accompaniments. Pudding will be a steamed sticky toffee pudding, with butterscotch sauce and clotted cream. Our evening food will be Hot rolls; bacon & sausage served with fries. Any guests with dietaries will be served a suitable variation.

Is the venue within walking distance of the onsite accommodation?

Answer

Yes, the cabins & cottages start from 100m away and the furthest is 1km ( about a 10 minute walk ). You can drive your car down to the Hidden River Barn on the day of the wedding as there is a car park next to it. You can view the site map by visiting; https://hiddenriverbarn.co.uk/site-map

How do I find out which Cabin/Cottage I will be staying in?

Isobel will be in touch with you with this information after all accommodation payments have been made by the 6th March.

Phone signal & Wifi

Answer


Due to the location, phone signal is patchy and you may not receive any whilst here. They say most guests report being able to get signal on the top road leading into the site. They do have wi-fi coverage at all onsite accommodation, you can find the wi-fi passwords in the information packs. 
If you are at the barn during the wedding and need to make a phone call they do have a landline which guests can use if needed.

Dancing shoes..

Answer

Just a heads-up, we won’t be providing flip flops for later in the evening, so make sure to bring your comfiest dancing shoes! We fully expect you to be tearing up the dance floor with us all night long—no excuses!

Answer

If you require a taxi please pre book this in advance as well as for your depature on check out day. The driver may ask for prepayment upon booking, due to our location taxis are not usually available on demand so must be organised in advance.
