Little did we realize that almost every morning, for months, we were in the same place at the same time but kept missing each other. We officially met at a bar and grill in town one night and from there everything just clicked. We saw each other almost every morning and made a point to spend what little free time we had together. And the rest, as they say, is history!
It was Valentine's Day and our three year anniversary. We went to Historic Deadwood in South Dakota and decided to have breakfast at Legends Steakhouse. We ended up with the entire restaurant to ourselves. I was enjoying a mimosa when he got down on one knee. I said, "YES" and we were engaged. Then we proceeded to have the best french toast we've had to this day!
Aloha means hello. It also means goodbye. Aloha is a moral code, an expression of love and a connection to nature. The late Haleaka Iolani Pule described aloha as "our innate sense to love things unconditionally." You will know the spirit of aloha when you feel it. After visiting the island of Oahu in August of 2016, we were overcome with a deep sense of aloha. Once engaged, we knew there was no where else where we would rather say "I do." If this is your first time visiting Hawaii, we hope that you too will be touched by the islands the way we have been. If this is a return trip, as it is for us, we say, "Welcome back." Either way we hope that our time spent together will allow us all to live life with more aloha.
