Angelot and I met the first day of Kindergarten in Gonaives, Haiti. I remembered one day he forgot to bring his lunchbox to school; and I shared my cassava with peanut butter with him that was the beginning of our friendship. We became best friends until we completed all our primary school years together. Once we completed 6th grade, Angelot left the province for Port-au-Prince in order to continue his education that was the end our friendship for years to come. I did not see him for almost a decade. Three years later after I immigrated into the USA, I saw his sister profile in Facebook then I requested her to add me as friend. Once his sister and I started talking, I asked of him and she informed that he was studying in Dominican Republic. She connected us within days. At the first call, it seems like we were never apart for all those years. He became my best friend again, advisor, and counselor and a prayer partner. Every night for about year I would get a good night text and little heart emojis. After that year, he finally expressed his deepest feelings for me that was the beginning of our long distance relationship. In 2019, Angelot moved to the USA where we continue working to strengthening our relationship. On December 6, 2019 on my birthday, he finally proposed and I happily accepted the proposal. Now, we are A.I.Ming for a higher and greater future together.
