FAQs

A Quick Thank You to my SISTER (in-law haha) Nora Tucker-Betz for allowing us to borrow and adjust her beautifully written FAQs:
Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

Yes you can! It will be your responsibility to keep them safe and entertained! There is a small beach and lake, so if your little ones want to play in the sand or water, I would recommend bringing a change of clothes. If you anticipate your kids wanting to swim, please bring them a life jacket or contact Ishtar ahead of time so I can confirm we have one for them. Also! This is a drug and alcohol friendly reception, so only bring your little ones if you are comfortable with that Lastly, Jeff's father has a BEAUTIFUL garden full of fruits and veggies, please ask your kids to refrain from running through his garden or picking anything.. it may be very tempting to them (who doesn't love fresh food?)

Question

Legal Weed?!?!?

Answer

If you are coming from out of state you may not be aware, but marijuana is legal in Illinois. We are a weed friendly family, so weed in any form is welcome at our wedding. If you will be smoking, please do so respectfully. Any THC infused treats or drinks will be kept at the bar and clearly labeled. You may also bring your own. I know we said drug friendly, but please keep it to legal substances only :)

Question

This isn't a question... but here's a note on inclusivity

Answer

We have many loved ones from diverse backgrounds. We expect everyone to be treated with the utmost respect. Some of our guests may be queer or gender queer. I would expect a beautiful fluid presentation of gender that some people may not be used to. Please make an effort to use people's pronouns correctly and not to assume anyone's identity based on how they are dressed or styled. Many of our loved ones use they/them, she/they, and he/they pronouns! We want everyone to come and express their authentic selves, if anyone makes another guest feel uncomfortable or unsafe we will have to ask you to leave :( which would be so sad.
