On August 31 2019,Travis’ fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha,was hosting a BBQ that Isha was attending with her sorority sisters from Delta Sigma Theta. Travis and Isha both attended St, John’s University, where the joined their fraternity and sorority. It was at this BBQ, that Travis laid eyes on Isha as he watched her dance. Travis wanted to dance with Isha but didn’t want to approach her. Rahsaan (wedding officiant), his fraternity brother who also went to college with Isha,placed her hand in his hand despite her initial resistance and the rest was history!During this dance,Travis asked for Isha’s number numerous times and after the third request,she bashfully said “maybe”. After dancing, Isha went to talk to her sorority sisters and was asked by another guy for her number.As Travis saw this exchange and as Isha was about to give her number to someone else, Travis came from across the room and said “im not asking no more,put your number in my phone”.In that very instance, their special journey began.Isha said “ Travis was either crazy or that was the most attractive thing a man had ever done. As they began to date,Travis held on to a secret, he was moving to Rota,Spain in less than four months.Despite it all, they held on to their faithful belief that their union was Divine,THIS WAS IT. Like any blessing,their relationship was tested!The pandemic came and U.S. citizens were banned from traveling to Spain. Isha and Travis were determined to be together.With six months into the pandemic and borders still closed,Isha booked a flight and relocated to Spain!Faith and favor allowed Isha to move to Spain, exactly one year later from when they first met! On October 29th 2020,while cooking empanadas together,Travis proposed to Isha in their beautiful home in Rota,Spain.
