Armando and I were recruited to run in the same Cross Country team for Clarendon College. The Coach there, Zack Leggett drove all the way to Ennis, Texas to tell me about his program and his plan for me. I did not want to go 6+ hours away from my family, but through prayer I heard God calling me to leave everything behind and start a new chapter of my life at Clarendon College. On the first day of practice my sophmore year, Armando came up to me and introduced himself. I will never forget the way he smiled at me, nor the way his eyes just seemed to sparkle as I looked up at him. He might as well have just said, "Hi, my name is Armando and I am going to be your future husband." I still believe God called me to Clarendon so I could meet the man He had chosen for me to spend the rest of my life with. We grew up in opposite ends of Texas, and our mutual love for running allowed us to literally run into each other in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere. Today, after six years of on and off distance we are less than 100 days to starting our lives together!
