Dear family and friends, If you received and invitation to attend our wedding, we want you to know two things: 1. If you do not feel safe accepting our invitation, we completely understand and love you just the same. We hope we have the opportunity to celebrate with you at a later date. 2. If you are planning on attending our wedding, we promise to do our absolute best to keep everyone safe. We will need your help to do this: please check your temperature the morning of the wedding to ensure you don't have a fever, and if you feel sick at all please stay home. Depending on which orders are in place on October 25th, we may provide masks for everyone and adjust any other logistics for everyone's safety. We will try our best to keep updates posted here as everything evolves. We look forward to celebrating with you and know that no matter what happens, we'll just be happy to finally be married and excited to start our life together. Wishing you all the best! Love, Isak & Jade
On November 30th, 2018 Jade went to Nashville for a girl's weekend with some friends who were all fans of the Liturgists Podcast. They had planned to see a live recording of the show at a church downtown. Jade's cousin (and Matron of Honor) Emily started chatting with a few people sitting in the row in front of their group, including Isak. They briefly introduced themselves and ran into each other a few more times during that weekend. A few days later, Isak sent Jade a "Friend Request" on Facebook and they started messaging back and forth. Over the course of the next week, their messages became longer and longer until Isak finally asked if he could just give Jade a call. That first call lasted several hours as they talked about their lives, their families, and their hopes for the future. They could both tell that this was the start of something wonderful.
On September 9th, 2019 Jade was asked by her co-worker Joanna to take some head-shot photos before going home for the day. Little did she know, it was a cover-up for Isak and an assortment of their friends and family to get ready for the proposal! When she arrived at her apartment Isak's best friend (and Best Man) J.T. was sitting on her front porch with a letter in his hand. The letter was from Isak, who claimed to be a few minutes away enjoying happy hour at Chuey's. When Jade and J.T. pulled up to the restaurant Isak was nowhere to be found, but Jade's dear friend Rebecca Kolsak was waiting with another letter. In this letter Isak apologized for not being there to meet her and asked her to drive to The Greene shopping center. Their friends Kyle and Rebecca were both waiting at different locations they had been the first weekend Isak ever visited Ohio with more letters. The second letter directed Jade back to her apartment, where the last letter was waiting. While she was reading the last letter, Isak and was across the street at a park they had also been to during his first visit. Jade's family and the "letter givers" were there too, helping him scatter rose petals and light candles to decorate the gazebo where he would get down on one knee. In case you hadn't already guessed, that last letter directed Jade to the park. When she arrived, Isak sang her a love song he had written especially for that moment entitled "More Than Anything." As soon as he started singing, Jade began crying tears of joy. When he was finished, he got down on one knee and asker her to be his wife! And of course, she said yes.
