Maid of Honor
I could write a whole book on my loving sister, but i'll keep it short. From changing my diapers to throwing the best parties together, we have always shared a deep bond with each other. As my older sister, she is naturally protective of me which has saved me from a lot of heartbreak and disappointment. Though we will not share the same last name anymore, we will always share our sisterly bond <3
Best Man
Kaleeb and I first met during his freshmen year at North Georgia University in 2013. We developed a friendship playing intramural football and basketball. Our friendship got stronger when we both had an interest an Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Kaleeb and I came into the fraternity together. Making it through that process made us closer and are as solid as can be. We started as friends and are now brothers. It’s a brother bond that can never be broken.
Bridesmaid
We met in high school... briefly! Lol. When we met at Chamblee High, she was a transfer student, then transferred BACK to her old high school the very next semester, as she really did not like Chamblee High School. We stayed in touch over the high school years, but grew to be best friends in college as we were roommates our entire college careers. Latifah, also known as Queen, is my sassy, ride or die best friend. She has literally been there for me through my toughest times in life, but has also been there for the best times (including helping Mr. Modlin propose) She has taught me so many lessons in life. I could not have been blessed with a better friend. #YOLO
Groomsman
Ed and I met during our first year at University of North Georgia in 2011. We had a mutual respect for one another as we were one of the few black students on campus. We became close friends once we found a common interest in the only black Fraternity on campus, Alpha Phi Alpha in 2013. We had some tough times at North Georgia but I’m grateful for that because we became very solid brothers through it all.
Bridesmaid
We went to Chamblee High School together, but became best friends in our senior year. She has such an infectious laugh and quirky personality, everyone always loves her. Jonni and I share having unisex names, so there's always a joke or story about how people don't believe or mispronounce our names. Another fun fact, Jonni is the only person in our wedding party to actually know the groom and myself, way before we started dating. Jonni and Isaiah were mutual friends while attending Middle Georgia College, so she was happy to see her best friend dating a great guy. She also had a hand in helping Mr. Modlin propose and definitely deserves a seat at the table.
Groomsman
Taahir, (he goes by Ty) and I met through our mutual interest in Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and because of that, we quickly became good friends. We had similar college struggles such as balancing school and work. We came into Alpha Phi Alpha together and that’s a bond that’ll never break. Anytime I asked or needed anything, he never hesitated to give and today, I’m still grateful for that.
Bridesmaid
My childhood best friend turned sister. We met in 6th grade! and have made so many wonderful memories over the course of almost 20 years! She has been there to celebrate every achievement I have had over the course of my life and I have been there for hers. Though we are grown, and have such busy lives being now, we still find time to hang out and catch up on life. I have such an extraordinary love and sense of accomplishment when it comes to my friendship with Sakia. This is a beautiful woman I will always cherish to have in my life.
