Christine and I met during our undergrad at IU Bloomington. The first class I met her in was a our Human Biology course. I walked up to her and a couple of her friends and awkwardly tried to make conversation, but unfortunately she didn't pick up on the fact that I liked her. It wasn't until our chemistry class that we began to study for exams together in the library and became friends. The summer after my Sophomore year we somehow moved into the same apartment complex and got to see a lot more of Christine. Often I would fix dinner at my apartment and invite her over for a plate or I would visit her at her job at a local bakery so I could get to know her better. I really fell in love with her personality and weird sense of humor. After spending time together I realized how kind and caring Christine is as a person, as well as how shy and introverted she is. By the spring of my Junior year we began to spend more time together as friends, but Christine still wasn't aware that I liked her as more than a friend. One day I finally told her my feelings, much to her surprise, and we have been dating ever sense.
Isaiah's family decided to plan a family vacation cruise to the Bahamas. I was really excited and looking forward to it because this was going to be my first real vacation since I started working. It was an interesting and beautiful experience being on the ocean for so long! Not once did I think I would be getting engaged on this trip. On the day we docked in the Bahamas and spent our time site seeing, jet skiing, and shopping throughout beautiful Nassau. Once we came back to the boat for dinner I could tell that something was different. When I sat down at our table I saw Isaiah speaking with our waiter for an extended period of time as we waited for everyone to get seated for dinner. I thought it was the most peculiar thing, but just decided to ignore it. The dinner courses proceeded as normal. When dessert came around our waiter said to me "We prepared a special desert just for you!" He set a plate down in front of me and pulled the lid off revealing the ring. The look of shock on my face was probably really funny to some in the restaurant. Then Isaiah was down on one knee I just started crying uncontrollably and said yes when I could finally breathe again. Then we were engaged! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you.
