As many know, we went to school and graduated together. Bri’s first year at Seacoast Christian School was 8th grade but Isaiah came back in 9th grade after he had been homeschooled. We met over the summer of 8th and 9th grade on the EBC Junior High Canoe Trip. Imagine the most cheesy Disney movie rom com you’ve ever seen and that’s how Bri felt first seeing Isaiah. She could still tell you almost every detail of what happened on that trip. For her, that trip never ended because he’d be in her class that year. If you ask Isaiah today what he thought about meeting Bri on that trip he would say, “She was there?” Bri was not what Isaiah was looking for but he learned that she was more. He simply loved her. We did not start dating until the summer going into 11th grade but we agree that we’d have it no other way.
After many discussions, we knew we wanted to get married. While Isaiah worked on getting the ring, Bri knew the time of him dropping a knee was coming. She began to watch for it in every romantic situation. About a year before Isaiah proposed, we took pictures with Angela Richards in a field so that she could build her portfolio. As time went on and things started to fall in place, Isaiah realized that getting Angela in on his plan just might work. Being friends, Angela and Bri went out for coffee and that’s when she asked Bri for another photo shoot at Vaughan Woods. Bri called Isaiah to talked all about the meeting but forgot about the photo shoot. Isaiah had planned that photo shoot with Angela so he kept asking if there was anything else he needed to know about the coffee meet up. Bri finally remembered and they talked about it. Bri began to explain to Isaiah how he should have used this opportunity to propose and how perfect it would have been. She explained his exact plan to his face and said “To bad you can’t do that now because I already guessed it.” The little weasel agreed and went on with his day. The day came and we began to take pictures. Bri was to occupied with trying to get the photos Angela wanted to actually think why they seemed to act strange. We stood back to back and Isaiah began to prepare for the moment. Bri started to turn to early so Isaiah dropped to his knee. With one look Bri screamed and walked away. Took a minute for her to circle around but she finally came back to say “Yes!” Barely containing excitement, we took the rest of the engagement photos. (Want to see the video? Go click on “Gallery”)
