Question

What time should I arrive to make the lift?

Answer

Timing is important! Please arrive at the bottom of Chair 1 no later than 5:00 PM. The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00 PM, and arriving early ensures you don’t miss the lift ride to the summit.

Question

Where will the ceremony take place, and how do I get there?

Answer

The ceremony will be held at the Whitefish Mountain Resort summit, located at 6,817 feet. Guests will reach the summit via a scenic 15-minute chairlift ride, which offers breathtaking views and a memorable start to the celebration. All guests will board Chair 1 from the Lift Plaza to reach the summit. The Lift Plaza can be accessed from either the Base Area or the Village Area, depending on where you park or stay.

Question

Where should I park, and how do I get to the Lift Plaza?

Answer

Guests staying or parking in the Village Area (Morning Eagle Lodge, Kintla Lodge, Edelweiss Condos, or the Birch Lot) may walk directly to the Lift Plaza and board Chair 1. Guests parking near the Base Lodge should walk to Chair 6 and allow an additional 10 minutes for the ride up to the Lift Plaza.

Question

What if someone in my group isn’t comfortable riding an open chairlift?

Answer

If you prefer not to ride an open chair, access the Lift Plaza through the Village Area. Chair 1 includes fully enclosed gondolas with sliding doors and plexiglass windows.

Question

How do we get down the mountain after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, all guests will ride Chair 1 back down to the Lift Plaza. From there: Guests returning to the Base Lodge for the reception may take Chair 6 or the Alpine Slides down. Guests who parked in the Birch Lot may drive down to the Base Lodge.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Our wedding is formal attire. We kindly ask guests to dress their best for the occasion. The ceremony site at the summit is covered in rock gravel. Stilettos can be tricky, so we highly recommend a comfortable shoe with a sturdy heel or sole—block heels, wedges, dressy boots, or flats are all great options. Temperatures at higher elevation can fluctuate, so you may want to bring a wrap, shawl, or formal jacket to stay comfortable.

Question

What's the weather like during a Montana summer?

Answer

Summer days are typically sunny and warm and evenings are crisp and cool after sunset. There can be a 10-degree difference in temperature between the Base Lodge (where the reception takes place) and the Summit (where the ceremony takes place).
