We are Getting Married!

As transfers from Florida International University and Texas A&M Corpus Christi, little did we know that fate would bring us together at Texas State University at the right time. Fall Semester 2016 8:00am Monday, Wednesday, Friday - Athletic Training Wound and Prevention Care class. I'm sure that neither of us thought anything of it because we were always assigned group work and activities all the time. However, it was the start of something so much more. Who knew a simple "hey, do you want to work in my group" could lead to forever? When Jerod asked me if I would like to work in his group, I of course said yes! Naturally, it was appropriate to exchange our phone numbers in order to keep up with our project together. After a couple weeks of texting about the project, Jerod asked what my plans were for the upcoming weekend - He was hosting a house party to celebrate a couple of his friends birthday's. Totally aware that he was flirting with me, I agreed to hang out and celebrate as well. A start to a great friendship! Months of texting and hanging out eventually led to him waking me up at 2:00am from a dead sleep asking "do you want to be my girlfriend?" - I said "yes, now can you snuggle me?". Days, weeks, months and years filled with irreplaceable memories have past since that day. January 21st, 2021 - Dinner with our closest of friends and family to celebrate our 4 year anniversary was at Flemings Steakhouse at the Domain in Austin, TX. Appetizers and dinner was far beyond delicious, what more can you ask for? Just before dinner, Champagne was served. Whats Champagne without a toast? How about a toast and a beautiful ring? "Thank y'all for coming tonight to celebrate us, heres to a better year than 2020" Jerod said. After the toast and as everyone cheered Jerod pulled a black oval shaped box out of the inner pocket of his suit, got down on one knee and nervously said "Babe, will you marry me?". Almost instantly and in shock, I said "YES" and the rest is history!
