We had heard about each other from a mutual acquaintance. She heard of a man that was moving to Iowa for a job. He liked drones, hiking, sci-fi, and fantasy. She thought it would be nice to reach out and see for herself what this man was all about. Maybe there was a new friend in the works? But definitely not looking for romance. He heard of a lady of refined taste. One who liked hiking, reading, fantasy, and sci-fi. He thought it would be nice to start a conversation with her. Maybe a new friend right around the corner? But no romance, he was on a semi-permanent vacation from too many failed relationships. Just friends. And then she waved. And he said hello back. He knew he was in trouble right from the start. She was the one. Intelligent, witty, loyal, caring, compassionate, and loving to her family and friends. And oh so much more. What more could a man ask for. The semi-permanent vacation came to an abrupt and perfect end. He had found the one to spend the rest of his life with. She had found someone that she felt was just right. Not into some stuff of the current generation, and an old soul. He was moving away, but maybe, just maybe, he would wait for her. She sent a note about her feelings and asking for him to wait. He admitted his love for her. And she admitted it back. A year and nearly eight months later, they are getting married. A whole new grand adventure begins, hand in hand. (Edit: I didn't know there could be two parts added to this page! So I wrote it in the view of both of us. Then she made her wonderful story below. And my heart melts each time I read it. I love you Isabelle. So very very much. <3 <3 <3)
He was a mystery she'd heard of since her youth from an acquaintance. One wave and a simple chat couldn't hurt. He was moving away to Iowa, (gross, what's in Iowa?) There wasn't a chance of romance. No thank you very much, she'd politely decline. Then the greeting happened, a polite hello and curiosity was sparked. Every morning and evening there was a hello and a goodnight. Swiftly she found herself smitten with the man who caused her laughter and showed care with not only his words but his actions. Distance still remained. One night she penned a letter asking him to wait for her. Maybe, just maybe they'd find their way through the trials before them. "I love you." What a reply, and unplanned for most certainly! However it wasn't possible to deny she felt the same in return, he'd become her best friend, partner, and idea of passing him up was out of the cards. "I love you too." Swiftly their relationship deepened, and realized no one else could fill the spot of the other. It was best to come together and build a foundation together to spend rest of their days. One year and eight months later they stand together ready for the next step in their journey.
He heard about a lady from an acquaintance. She was going through a path of life that he had walked before. A path of clearing the fog, and figuring out her career path. Someone who had goals, and was seeing if they were right for her to go down. A lady that was loyal, balanced, and doing her best every day to be better than she was yesterday. He had just gotten out of that path himself. And he could feel a connection right there. He had finally found a career path to go down and a place to work on himself and discover what he enjoyed. The only issue was that it was in Iowa. He hoped that he would be able to meet her in person one day. Or even get to start a conversation. He felt that she might be an amazing friend. As the weeks went on however, the thought of this lady kept coming into his mind. And then, she waved. There she was. This person who had entered his life and was on his mind without even a single word. And she had reached out. He replied back. Nervously, excitedly, and so very happily. Her response back was elegant, thoughtful, and inquisitive. He knew right then: "Uh oh." Before she had reached out, he had told himself that he was done with romance until further notice. He wanted to focus on his career and figuring out more of himself. Especially after all the failed romances before. But... Here she was. The one. And he knew he must wait for her. The break from romance was over. And he was on call for this amazing lady who had made the first step. Who had taken a chance on him. He couldn't pass this up. Then she sent a note, admitting her feelings and asking him to wait. He admitted right back his feelings, and yes, he was going to wait for her. "I love you" His first time saying it to her. And she responded in kind. One year and eight months later, they are getting married. And he is so very blessed and honored to be the one waiting at the end of the aisle for her.
