We first met outside of our freshman college dorm. Izzy's car had gotten stuck on an ice patch and she needed help moving it. Alec was just getting done with soccer practice and volunteered, along with two others, to push her car from behind. Alec nearly hurt himself slipping on ice but the car was eventually freed. From that point on, we continued to keep in touch and support each other in athletic events. Just before summer break we began dating and the rest is history.

While on vacation in Hot Springs, Arkansas, Alec, Izzy and her family "decided" to go on a hike, that ended up being straight uphill, and happened to be during the hottest part of the afternoon. Panting and sweating, they finally made it to the top and found an outlook over the beautiful surrounding area and town below. At this spot, Alec took the knee and Izzy said yes!
