These hiking trails are where Wesley proposed to me! I highly recommend taking these particular hikes early in the morning for the best temperature and view. Sharp Top Trail: -1.5 miles to summit -2 hours hiking up, 1 hour hiking down, extra 30 minutes to take detour to Buzzard's Roost Elk Run Loop: -0.8 mile -1 hour for leisurely walks Abbott Lake Trail -1 mile loop around Abbott Lake a stone's throw from Peaks of Otter Lodge -30 minutes for leisurely walk. Easiest of all the trails.
Wesley took me here on one of our trips to Bedford. The bravery of the 116th, Wesley's Virginia National Guard Unit, is highlighted amongst the history portrayed in the memorial.
