Jacob & I met at a ballroom dance competition. Everyone was cheering for him and I didn’t like that I didn’t know who he was. I aggressively introduced myself and then waited 10 months for him to ask me out. Planting hints of interest along the way. Even tried my baking skills on him. It seemed like an eternity for me, but for Jacob he was traveling for work and knew he it wasn’t fair to start a relationship and immediately go to a long distance situation. Eventually everything aligned just right for us to get to know each other outside of dance. We quickly realized this was a good thing and the rest is history!
That morning Jacob asked for me to be thinking of what I am thankful for… He showed up a little early that evening before we were supposed to head out for a night out with friends at the Escape Game. We were chatting about what we were thankful for and lost track of time. I popped up and ran to brush my hair before we headed out and when I walked back out of the bathroom Jacob was standing “awkwardly” outside of the door in the middle of the room. I asked, “ what are you doing?” I hugged him and noticed he was shaking “aggressively.” If, I’m honest I got the feeling the biggest question of my life was coming and my brain shut off and could only focus of hearing those words. so I will have to let Jacob fill the gaps about what he said 🫢. Right before he asked THE QUESTION I do remember him saying, “I know you don’t like praying in front of others and I will always be there to pray on your behalf for the rest of our lives.” He asked me to marry him and I just remembering holding him so tight. The next words from Jacob… “You didn’t even look at the ring!” I then looked at the ring and put it on, but then I said, “ hate to kill the moment, but we are going to be late to the escape game 😬.” Then the whirlwind truly began! We went to meet our friends at the escape game and even got out in record time! Go team! The staff at the game left us a card in one of the clue boxes, which was sweet and made the day super special. Jacob and I went to Jenni’s Ice Cream to celebrate! We spent the night on the phone with friends and family!
