Meet the Groomsmen and Bridesmaids!

Gabriel Carrazana

Best Man

I met Lorenzo shortly after coming out of the womb, so you might say I’ve known him all my life. From playing with sticks and building box forts to discussing politics and the next steps in lives and careers, our relationship has changed in many ways. Yet, he is always someone I can enjoy a conversation with and who has been there to support me. I am proud to call him my brother.

Annabella Chow

Maid of Honor

Isabella is my amazing older sister. Fun fact: Isabella now cooks really good food, a far improvement since the sad college days where she would eat the same sad-looking frozen curry for every meal for two whole weeks.

Trent Cole

Groomsman

I met Lorenzo when his family came to a playgroup at my house in middle school, and we quickly became friends. We have spent many hours playing airsoft, watching movies, and shooting. He has been an amazing friend, and it has been an honor to know him throughout the years.

Maggie Kohl

Bridesmaid

I met Isabella in the summer of 2018 at an AEI Honors Conference in Washington, D.C. where we had a few, brief interactions. Little did I know then that a year later we would share a room for four months at the John Jay Fellows program, where our friendship deepened over memes, prayer, and late night chats. I had the privilege of watching Isabella and Lorenzo’s friendship blossom over those months, and I’m honored to stand with them on their wedding day to celebrate the culmination of that friendship.

Mark McGill

Groomsman

I met Lorenzo playing little league baseball in Virginia. we both enjoyed the same activities - playing airsoft, sports, video games and guns.

Isaiah Nelson

Groomsman

I met Lorenzo through Mark and Trent at a young age. He’s always been a great friend who’s shown his strong Christian faith through his actions not just by how he talks. Lorenzo is an easy guy to look up to and I’m happy to see he’s found his significant other.

Jessica Schurz

Bridesmaid

Both Isabella and Lorenzo were my housemates for four months with the John Jay Fellows program in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. We all spent the semester reading, praying, and traveling across the East Coast together. Isabella — “busy Issy,” as we called her — added weekly delights of feeding us dumplings, playing beautiful classical music, and roasting the house through memes. It was a joy to watch Isabella’s and Lorenzo’s shared loves of Christ, pranks, family, and deep care for their friends draw them to one another.

Alesondra Cruz

Bridesmaid

I met both the bride and groom at the John Jay Institute in 2019. At the end of our time together, Isabella was voted most likely to be a tech CEO, pastor of a megachurch, Governor of California, or head chef at a 5 star restaurant, which I think describes her and our friendship perfectly. Out of those many talents, Isabella was truly known around the house for her pranks. If you have yet to hear the story of her and Lorenzo’s prank on my 22nd birthday, it is worth a listen.

Kevin MacPherson

Groomsman

I met Lorenzo at church back in 2010 and we were in the youth group together as well as his brother Gabe. We quickly became fast friends and have spent countless entertaining times together with his puns and his dumb humor. His family accepted me as one of their own children and I am proud to call him my brother. You are my Peggy to your Schamil. I am so so excited to stand by your side as you marry the love of your life. As your “Big Brother” I am so proud of everything you are accomplishing and have accomplished and am excited to see what life has in store for you and your future wife as you navigate through your lives together. Cannot wait to see your final evolved form.

Shelly Novo

Bridesmaid

Isabella and I met on a homeschool field trip, but my memory of us becoming friends starts when we took a dance class together in first grade. I remember Isabella being kind and hardworking in that class; I know she has maintained those characteristics all her life. We started “Secret Club” (a Bible study), did lots of crafts, went on lots of hikes, and shared many laughs. I still enjoy hiking and laughing with Isabella and I am thrilled to celebrate her and Lorenzo’s marriage.

Wei-En Lu

Groomsman

I met Lorenzo during a multicultural students event at Grove City College on August 23, 2015. Later on, I found out that he lived right next door and we would sometimes cross paths during freshmen hall dinner or when using the bathroom. Our friendship grew closer at the end of freshman year when we decided to become roommates and began spending more time together. Throughout college, we cheered each other up with jokes, played Fortnite during class, regretted playing Fortnite once exams came around, and shared many more experiences together. Although we had lots of fun, I also grew as an individual through the way that he conducts himself. His patience, kindness, and sense of responsibility are some of the characteristics that I am learning from and am glad to have him as a friend.

Jan Chan

Bridesmaid

I met Isabella in middle school when we were both at River of Life. We became much closer in college as roommates for 3 years during which her 5am alarm woke me up every single morning. I can no longer worship to the worship song that was her alarm ringtone without feeling largely disgruntled, sorry Jesus

Christian Butera

Groomsman

I met Lorenzo in the year of our Lord two thousand and fifteen at Grove City College. We were in the same freshman hall and became friends within milliseconds! We continued to grow our friendship throughout our time at Grove City. We joined the same housing group and roomed together senior year.

Sarah Jin

Bridesmaid

I met Isabella at the Foothill dorm at Cal, where we struggled everyday to hike from the campus everyday! After church service, we would take the bus together, do our CS labs, and hang out. I remember us always talking about who will be married first, and she is definitely the winner!
