Things To Do

Carmel has a very special place in our hearts. It's about a 20-minute drive from Monterey but you can't go to Monterey without going to Carmel. It has been the home of so many fun memories and weekend getaways. We got engaged in Carmel, I found my wedding dress here, & we've spent countless hours dreaming about our future over a glass of wine in the heart of Carmel By The Sea. Below are a few of our favorite places in the area we wanted to share with you!

Alta Bakery and Cafe

502 Munras Avenue, Monterey, CA 93940

If you're coffee lovers like us, you have to go grab a latte and breakfast pastries from Alta. Pro Tip: people start lining up early, so there may be a little bit of a wait...it's worth the wait but I recommend getting their early to avoid the line.

Captain & Stoker

398 East Franklin Street, Monterey, CA 93940

Another yummy coffee recomendation in Monterey!

Alvarado Street Brewery

426 Alvarado Street, Monterey, CA 93940

We have more recommendations for places to grab a good drink, but if you find yourself needing a bite to eat, this is a great spot for good food, good beer, and relaxed vibes!

Estéban Restaurant, Local's Favorite, Open for Dinner

700 Munras Avenue, Monterey, CA 93940

If you're staying at Hotel Casa Munras, then this is a quick walk to yummy food!

The Whisky Club Monterey

425 Alvarado Street, Monterey, CA 93940

We stumbled upon this place while looking for our wedding venue. If you appreciate a perfectly crafted cocktail (we have that in common), then you have to check this place out. Recommendations: Andrew ordered a classic Black Manhattan and I ordered a Whisky Sour- both delicious!

Stationaery Restaurant

San Carlos Street, 3 NE of 6th Avenue, San Carlos St, Carmel-by-the-sea, CA 93921

I force Andrew to go here every morning when we're visiting. Their Vanilla Latte is what dreams are made of & if you want a bite to eat, their avocado toast is made to perfection. Pro Tip: this place fills up quickly. If you want to grab a coffee to go you can order online but if you prefer to sit down, make a reservation to guarantee a spot! Fun Fact: we had breakfast here the morning Andrew proposed.

Georis Winery

1 Pilot Road, Carmel Valley, CA 93924

Carmel Valley is filled with yummy food but even better wine. Georis is one of our favorite wineries here. If you have the time, make a reservation to wine taste or go grab some pizza to go at Corkscrew Cafe!

Terry's Lounge

7th Avenue, Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA 93921

Another cocktail recommendation, shocker! This is one of Carmel's hidden gems. Located in the heart of The Cypress Inn Hotel, you can come here for a semi-secluded cocktail, yummy bites, and four legged friends (very dog friendly)!

Bud's at La Playa

8th Avenue, Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA 93921

This is another hidden Carmel gem! If you're looking for old school, classic vibes with even classier cocktails, you must visit Buds! It's become one of our favorite places (we took our engagement photos here).

Pacific Grove Golf Links

77 Asilomar Avenue, Pacific Grove, CA 93950

For all the golfers out there (like my father, future father-in-law, and fiancé) who want to sneak in a round of golf, this course is perfectly located oceanside for amazing views. According to my dad and Andrew, it's a tough course, but to them every course is tough.

Links Club

Mission Street, Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA 93921

Don't have time to play a full 18 but want to get a few swings in? The golf simulator in Carmel By The Sea is a fun way to play some of the most well-known courses in the world!
