We met in high school our sophomore year all the because of a field trip neither of us got to go on! After bonding over how incredibly irritating it was to be the only two students stuck at school in our grade level, we started to hangout much more often. William would come to my moms house to clean her garage just to hangout with me, and eventually he just stuck around fo good! After dating for six years, William proposed in the roof top garden using a book by my “favorite” author, Jane Austen, to hide the ring. It was a great way to make the moment sentimental to our high school years at Early College, while also showing he very much remembers how much I used to enjoy the author prior to the chaos of a terrible English Professor. William and I have made a lot of friends on this journey. We are glad to be able to share this moment with those closest to us. Those that have stuck around and been there to support us in our relationship, education, and workplace growth.
