Our story begins in October 2023 on a fun night out with friends at the Carolina Classic Fair in Winston-Salem. Although we were both living in Winston-Salem at the time (Rob in the middle of his “gap year” between undergrad and medical school, and Isabel teaching first grade), our paths hadn’t crossed until that night at the fair. In the weeks that followed, conversations after church became something we both quietly looked forward to. Isabel quickly became someone Rob wanted to know more and more. Texting turned into long phone calls over Thanksgiving break, and before long, he asked her on their first date. On December 1, 2023, we went to see the Tanglewood Christmas Lights - the perfect start to the Christmas season and, as it turns out, to us. Over the next few weeks, time together seemed to fly. Coffee dates, long walks, dinners, and watching the sunset at Quarry Park quickly became some of our favorite moments. Being together felt easy, joyful, and steady from the very beginning. Over the next 23 months, spending time together was always the highlight of our weeks. Conversations naturally grew into dreams about the future and what life might look like side by side. On November 16, 2025, Rob proposed to Isabel at the beautiful Graylyn Estate in Winston-Salem. It was a beautiful late-fall afternoon and Isabel was completely surprised. We walked up to the spot hand-in-hand, and Rob looked into her eyes and mentioned just why she was so special to him, and just why he wanted to spend his future with her as his partner in life. Tears were shed and we both couldn’t believe this moment actually happened (shoutout to Ashley Kate for capturing all of this on camera!). Boom, just like that, we were engaged. We are incredibly thankful for the friends and family the Lord has graciously placed around us. Thank you for strengthening our relationship, supporting us in countless ways, and walking alongside us during this season of life. We are so excited for the future ahead as we join together in marriage. We are committed to loving one another well, building a life rooted in faith, and striving to glorify the Lord in the years to come.
