The Binstock's and I headed to New Zealand for the holidays! We planned to travel the whole North Island and take in the island's beauty. On December 24th, we all went to hike Rangitoto. Afterwards, the family decided to get dressed up and take "family photos" on the beach at sunset...... or so I thought! Karsen's sister painted my nails, and everyone looked so sharp. We picked up some drinks and headed to the Muriwai Beach. Karsen's sister is quite the photographer, and we took some beautiful photos as the sun set. Soon Karsen's parents took some pictures together and they looked stunning. Then everyone suggested Karsen and I take some pictures together. I love a good photo shoot, so I gave us all kinds of different poses to do. Then all of a sudden Karsen went off script and got down on one knee. I was stunned as I asked him what he was doing! He asked me to marry him and of course I said yes... after I asked him if he was serious a dozen times and sobbing. Everyone on the beach cheered as we hugged, kissed and cried. It couldn't have been more perfect. Karsen and I popped some champagne together and celebrated with our family. Remember when I said it couldn't have been more perfect? That was too soon as the tide came in and washed all of our belongings for us. We were able to recover almost everything but most importantly, the champagne! We went home with our wet and sandy things and had the most beautiful dinner of take-out McDonalds! We then got to wake up as a newly engaged couple on Christmas day in Auckland, New Zealand.
