FAQs

Question

Do I need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to attend?

Answer

Yes.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes! We will have shuttles running before the ceremony and during the reception. They will go between the venue and the Sofitel. The first shuttle leaves from Sofitel to Prim at 4:30pm and the second shuttle is at 4:45pm. If you do not catch the shuttle, Ubers are easy, fast, and safe. At the end of the evening, shuttles will return to the Sofitel at 11:30pm, 12:30am, and 1:45am.

Question

Do I need to take a COVID test to return to the US?

Answer

No. Effective June 12, 2022 the US is no longer requiring a negative COVID test to re-enter the US from Mexico. For those planning to fly to another country after the wedding, please keep in mind that it might be necessary for U.S. citizens entering other countries to obtain a negative PCR or antigen test.

Question

My passport expires within 6 months of the wedding, will that be a problem?

Answer

No! Mexico only requires that your passport be valid at time of entry. If you plan to stay in Mexico longer than 180 days (love that for you), you'll need a tourist visa. That said, we recommend ensuring your passport is valid 6 months beyond your return date, just in case.

Question

What's the RSVP deadline?

Answer

September 15th

Question

How do I get from the airport to my hotel/ Airbnb?

Answer

Uber is your safest, most affordable option. The taxi drivers at the airport will tell you that Uber can't come to the airport, but ignore them and order your ride. If you'd prefer a different option than Uber, our planner recommended the rideshare app Beat as another safe and reliable choice.

Question

Do I need to wear a mask in Mexico City?

Answer

Currently, yes, the city has a mask mandate in public spaces.

Question

What do I need to know about the altitude?

Answer

Mexico City is 7,300 ft in altitude (for reference, Denver is 5,300 ft) so please be wary of remaining hydrated and how your body is feeling. If you're someone who has a health condition that might be affected by higher altitude, please consult your doctor before coming.

Question

Can you explain the dress code? What is black tie optional?

Answer

Black tie optional means that fellas should be in a suit & tie or a tuxedo and that ladies should be in tea-length or long dresses or jumpsuits. We're encouraging folks to express themselves with festive and colorful outfits because oftentimes people interpret "black tie" to mean black or navy dresses. Ultimately, we just want everyone to look and feel fabulous!

Question

What does "date night" attire mean for the welcome party?

Answer

Just as it sounds! Wear what you'd wear out for a night out with friends or your partner. We want our guests to look and feel fresh!

Question

Can I drink tap water?

Answer

We recommend against it. Bottled water is readily and cheaply available on nearly every corner.

Question

Are the events indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The venues for the welcome party and the wedding are both indoors. The Trajineras in Xochimilco is outdoors but covered.
