Most guests traveling from the United States will fly into Athens International Airport (ATH – Eleftherios Venizelos) before connecting onward to Santorini. Step 1: Fly from the U.S. to Athens (ATH) Nonstop and one‑stop flights are available from many major U.S. cities. Step 2: Connect from Athens to Santorini From Athens, take a short domestic flight (approximately 45 minutes) to Santorini National Airport (JTR), also known as Thira Airport. Once you arrive in Santorini, transportation to your hotel is easily arranged by taxi or private transfer. Please keep in mind that due to the time change, if you depart Chicago on Wednesday evening, you will arrive in Greece the following day. There is an 8‑hour time difference between Chicago (CST) and Santorini (EET). While connecting through Athens is the most common route, there are also alternative flight paths to Santorini depending on your departure city and airline.
