Our love story began on January 21, 2012 our freshman year of college at the University at Buffalo. We met each other at a mutual friend's pre-game where we were paired up as beer pong partners. We made the perfect beer pong team that night and little did we know that we would make a perfect team for life. That same night I lied and told him it was my birthday for free drinks, and it worked! He (not so) sneakily asked for my number because he just had to text me "Happy Birthday". I accidentally gave him the wrong number so his plan didn't end up working. Luckily, we lived in the same dorm and we ran into each other the next morning. We continued to run into each other during the semester, study sessions turned into sushi dates. We will forever be grateful for our freshman year dorm for bringing us together. After we graduated college, we started a long distance relationship to finish up our graduate degrees at Columbia University and the University at Buffalo. We spent almost 4 years in a long distance relationship. That did not stop us from always seeing each other. The long distance allowed us to travel to different cities and plan mini-weekend getaways! Between hectic school and work schedules we managed to make it through one of the hardest times in our relationship. We never thought that the time would come, but after 3 years and 8 months we are happily living together in Albany, NY. We are so looking forward to starting this new chapter together, and can’t wait to celebrate with all of our family and friends!
GT brought me to Saratoga Springs, NY for what I thought was going to be his parent's 40th Anniversary party. We arrived at Saratoga National, a gorgeous golf club and after greeting his parents I saw that there was a large box on the table sitting in front of us. I was told to open the box and inside were 3 photos. the first photo was of the place where GT first knew he loved me/wanted to be with me forever, the second photo was where he first said “I love you”, and the final photo of the exact spot we were sitting, the spot he would ask me to spend the rest of my life with him with the most perfect, stunning ring. Not only was the proposal absolutely perfect, a photographer captured the magical moment and he surprised me with a private dinner with both of our families!
