The first time I met Garrett I didn't really like him. Thankfully, a few months later he was at a classmates apartment during a movie night I had originally intended to just be me and that classmates girlfriend. We all sat on the couch to watch Chicago, and Garrett made the famous "pizza thing" (a family recipe). After that we were pretty much always together, but it wasn't until I was leaving for my internship at Lilly that things started getting serious.

Our trip to Greece was booked in November of 2021, and that's when Garrett decided he wanted to propose - 8 months later! We were at our cliffside wine tasting in Santorini and Garrett tried a couple times to trick me into getting up from the table (so he could get the ring out of our bag) and then into bringing me to where he was going to propose before the whole group went over for pictures. I didn't want to skip out on the end of the tasting though, and so he ended up proposing in front of about 70 people! I still remember the excursion guide topping off his wine glass as we walked over to the spot. Our tour guide Vasili put us on this little dome for pictures, and that's when Garrett popped the question. I was so excited and surprised I blacked out a little bit, but I obviously said yes!
