We met in 2011 in school. Ike was in 9th grade and Lydia was in 7th. We would talk almost every day and found we understood each other in a way nobody else did. In 2012 we began to date, after a few months we went our separate ways. Throughout the years we kept in touch and up to date on each others lives. Ike moved down to St. Cloud after graduation in 2014 for a few months. When he moved back to Crookston in 2015, we continued to hangout and stay connected as friends. In 2016 we began to hang out a bit more frequently. Fall of 2016 Lydia moved to Bemidji to attend BSU. That December she decided to move back home. Lydia and Ike continued to figure out their lives as individuals while still wanting to be together until May 18th, 2017, Ike and Lydia made it "official". In August, we went and picked out our first kitty, Furgie, who resided with Lydia until we got our first apartment together in May of 2018 in Fargo, ND. In 2019 Lydia brought Ike to get his valentines day gift at the local cat shelter and that's when we brought home our new addition, Paulo. We adore our kitties and believe they are a very important part to our story. During this time we also took our first vacations together to Arizona (Christmas 2018) and Florida (May 2019). In June of 2020 (and in the midst of COVID) we left Fargo and moved to Grand Forks, ND. We were ready to be closer to our friends and family again. We continued to build our lives together, reconnect with friends, and spend more time with our families while there. In October of 2022 we bought our home in Crookston, MN. Back to where it all began... Becoming homeowners has been exciting, stressful, and rewarding for us both. On May 18th, 2024, on our 7th year anniversary, Ike proposed to Lydia while on the beaches of Indian Shores, Florida (Where we went in 2019) during sunset and it was magical. We have a long history, and so many people have said FINALLY to us both. But our story is full of growth, love, and amazing memories and we wouldn't have it any other way.
