We got engaged outside of our favorite restaurant in Winchester, where we lived at the time, on Isaac's 30th birthday. Thinking I was there to take him out for a celebratory dinner, he surprised me by getting down on one knee, and saying "All I want for my birthday is for you to be my wife." However, if you know us, you know that we fell hard in love after our first date at The Rosebud in Davis Sq. and spent almost everyday together since. We knew we were going to get married from the start so the engagement was not a total shock. Some may know the story of when we were antiquing in Kennebunkport, Maine and stumbled upon a vintage gold ring lined with small marquise cut diamonds. We were dating 6 months at the time and openly talked right there at the stand about whether we should purchase it, with the idea in mind, of it becoming a future wedding band. We both loved it (and the price!) so naturally, the ring was bought and stored for our future nuptials, with Tina's engagement ring designed to match. Shortly after experiencing our engagement bliss, we were trying to decide between a summer wedding in 2020 or 2021. We quickly realized that it would be too soon and stressful to plan a wedding during our busy school years for the upcoming summer. Never could we have anticipated that the large majority of our engagement would take place during a global pandemic, forcing us to remain inside, while we endured 2020. We have spent A LOT of time together, in close proximity, this past year due to COVID. Emphasis on close proximity - if you are one of the few people who saw our Winchester apartment, you know what we are talking about. The silver lining is that it's brought us closer together on a new level, strengthening our friendship, love, and admiration for one another.
