Melissa finally decided it felt right to celebrate and acknowledge our loving partnership in a ceremony witnessed by our community! Isaac has been ready for a good few years, but one November evening in 2024, as they pulled into their driveway, Mel turned to Isaac and said “I think I want to get married!” Isaac took that and didn’t look back. On our trip to Germany that December, witnessed by our beloved friends Sophia and Reily, Isaac offered Mel a ring as an official engagement proposal. Melissa accepted, of course!
We have reserved the three cabins on the land at Mettabee. Each house up to 6 people, have no running water, are fully enclosed, and about a 5 -10 minute walk from the parking lot and shower/toilet. There are also three other sleeping spaces on the site, each with bathrooms and 2-5 beds. There is plenty of space for primitive camping on site as well. Please reach out with further questions!

Comfy hiking clothes for Friday morning hike. Maybe. Bring some swimming suits? Pajama party Friday night! Ceremony/reception/dance on Saturday: comfy, flowy, summer party! What you feel most comfortable in is priority. Do be aware this will be on a farm. Mud and dirt is likely, so dress accordingly!
No, not likely. However, there will most definitely be a donkey, several sheep and some chickens hanging around. Please leave your own pets at home or where you stay off Mettabee property. If they want to come along on the hike on Friday, that’s definitely a possibility!

We would love to see you whenever works best for you! The main reason we’re having an extended weekend of celebration is so we can get to spend good time with all of you who we love so much. Come to the event(s) and/or time(s) that makes sense for you.
No specific menus yet, but probably we will have some sort of pizza on Thursday evening, a potluck Friday (let us know if you’d like to bring something to share), a dinner Saturday around 5:30, and bagels on Sunday morning. If you have dietary restrictions, let us know!

Nope. Mettabee is an alcohol-free and smoking-free location.
There is a good amount of parking, and if the space fills up we can shuttle from other parking lots not far away.
