Please plan to RSVP by August 1st! We want to have plenty of time to organize cabins and activities for everyone!
For fun! It has lots of space, included sleeping accomodations, and tons of activities. Plus, we hope that celebrating our wedding with all of our family and friends at Camp Ton-A-Wandah will give us the opportunity to really enjoy every minute of the weekend and spend quality time with everyone!
Of course not! Although everyone is welcome to join us at camp for the whole weekend, we understand that it may not be for everyone! If you don't want to sleep in a twin-sized bunkbed in a cabin and shower in a bath-house, you are welcome to find other accommodations nearby. See the "Travel" tab for more information and options!
Your closest friends and/or family! We will be arranging and assigning cabin "spots" once we receive RSVPs, but will only place guests with their close friends or family members. Please reach out to us if you have specific requests for your cabin-mates or if you need a more private/individual cabin for your family (there are a limited number of private cabins for family units!)
For most of your time at camp, the dress code is comfortable and casual! For Friday night's Rehearsal/Welcome Dinner, the dress code is Smart Casual For Saturday's Wedding Ceremony and Reception, the dress code is Cocktail attire See the schedule for more details and ideas on what to wear!
Since we have organized a full weekend including lots of different activities, consider packing: -Comfortable "Camp" Clothes for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday -Layers: jackets or sweaters for cooler early fall evenings (consider the historical temperatures of 75 degree highs and 54 degree lows on this date, in this area) -Rain gear: rain jackets and umbrellas (just in case!) -Shoes: Closed-Toed Shoes/Tennis Shoes for hiking/climbing/ziplining, Dress shoes for the ceremony and reception, Flip-Flops/Crocs for use in the cabin and/or shower hall. -"Dressy" clothes for Friday and Saturday nights (Smart Casual and Cocktail attire) -Bathing suit (for swimming in the lake!) -Linens (If you can! We can help to provide linens if you are traveling from out of town): Pillows, Sheets, Comforter or Quilt, Blankets, Towels (pool, bath, washcloth, etc.), or even an Air Mattress (if you think that it would be more comfortable than a twin-sized bunk bed mattress) -Any and all toiletries that you may need -Extra snacks and drinks (alcoholic beverages are permitted onsite) if you want!
Yes! You are invited to come stay with us in a shared cabin and join us for meals throughout the weekend, which will all be provided and included! If you would like to help or contribute towards the group meals and lodging in any way, you are welcome to do so-- just reach out to us for more information!
There is SO much to do in the area! If you don't want to join us for summer camp activities, or if you want to extend your trip before or after our wedding weekend, you are welcome to explore Flat Rock, NC, Hendersonville, NC, or Asheville, NC. From adorable shops, mountain views and hikes, wonderful restaurants, and breweries galore, you won't have any shortage of activities to choose from! See the “Travel” tab for more ideas!
Just having you join us for our wedding celebration is gift enough, so please do not feel obligated to buy us anything! If you would like to give us a gift, please see the "Registry" tab for links to our online registries and/or our Honeymoon Fund.
Yes! We will have lots of kids coming to enjoy our Summer Camp weekend with us. All children are welcome! There is a playground on-site and many other fun and family-friendly activities will be available! Please let us know if you need any extra help with configuring cabin sleeping arrangements for your family.
Unfortunately not. As much as we (including Jocassee!) would love to have our furry family and friends join us, too, Camp Ton-A-Wandah does not allow dogs to stay at camp.
There is plenty of parking at camp, including in the "soccer field" large grass area. See the map on the "Camp Ton-A-Wandah" tab for more information!
Absolutely! Since we will be providing meals throughout the weekend for those who want to join us, we want to have options available for all of our guests. Please just let us know if you have any specific needs or requests for food when you RSVP!
