We were both up bright and early to attend orientation for working as seasonal gate attendants in Custer State Park in May of 2016. We were at the Visitor Center waiting for the park movie to start when Isaac introduced himself. We both felt extremely excited knowing we'd be working at the same gate, and getting to tour the park in the same van; it's the little things. We joked and laughed and finally went on our first real date July 1st. We spent most of the summer fishing, laughing, staying up too late talking in the hammock, hiking, maybe catching a drive-in movie, eating pizza somewhere new every week, and spending almost every single day outside doing something different for each date we went on.
We were camping in Custer State Park during the beautiful month of June. We both love fishing, camping, hiking, anything to do with the outdoors. We woke up about halfway through our trip and Isaac had all of us (including our two pups) get in the car and we drove around to Stockade Lake. We walked down to the rock where we had caught a ton of fish while we were camping, and over the past summer. It was the first place we had ever hung out and went fishing. I was looking down at the bass swimming around and I heard, “Jasmine,” so I turned around and Isaac was there down on one knee. It was the perfect place to say YES to the rest of our lives!
