12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Comfortable, casual, good walking shoes. Bring sunscreen and shade if you wish!
***UPDATE*** Changed the time of ceremony from 12-3:00ish, please be in the Max Patch Parking area by noon. We will be exchanging vows surrounded by the beautiful Smoky Mountains of Tennessee and the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Max Patch is an open bald with 360 degrees views off the Appalachian Trail. To get there, it's a series of back roads and a well maintained gravel forest road that is about a 30 minute drive from our reception site. AWD vehicles are best, but cars can make it. If you're coming EAST BOUND from Knoxville, take exit 7, Harmon Den, off of I-40. Be sure to drive slow. We prefer for guests to carpool as there is limited parking. The hike is a well-maintained trail that is approximately 0.4 miles to the top. It is a very mild, gradual incline (you can do it!). We will be off to the side on the left once you take the trail. After we exchange vows, we'll be toasting with champagne and some light snacks. Be sure to eat beforehand.
5:00 pm
Casual
The party starts at 5! Parking is to the left of the barn from the main road, please park strategically. Ladies, much of the property is gravel, flat shoes would be best. **Please note that if guests are feeling adventurous everyone is invited to stay on the property the night of the reception** There are tent camping options on the property and the barn (where the dancing will occur) has cots, hammocks, and blow up mattresses for use (after dancing). We ask that if you are to stay on the night of the reception, it is $15 a person. **Please see the travel note in the accommodation section to book through us!** Late night will include Isaac and his buddies playing instruments and songs around the fire. The property is owned by a wonderful couple, Brenda Jane and Mo (our caterer), be sure to tell them hello! **Also please be mindful with recycling and trash. There are receptacles on the site and it must be sorted (or we'll get a big fine). We love our planet!**

We would love to take guests the following day to one of our favorite swimming holes. If it's warm, swimming is an option (Yes, in October!) The Laurel River is outside of the town of Marshall, approximately a 45 minute drive from the reception site.

Still working out details for this but we are interested in doing a group soak on Saturday after our hike!
