Her : Isaac and I met in California, August 2018 when He and Luke came to visit. They stayed with their good friends the Bergendahl’s, who also happened to be my good friends. It didn’t take long for Isaac and I to notice each other. We went to the beach, explored LA, sang karaoke, had dinner at my family’s house, went salsa dancing (before I knew Isaac was Puerto Rican) and he surprised me by being great dance partner! After dancing, the connection between Isaac and I was different. We knew fairly quickly that we had something special and wanted to spend all the time we had available with each other. In a twist of events, I was also planning on moving to Thailand less than 1 month after we met. I still ended up moving to Thailand for 5 months where Isaac and I dated long distance. The 13 hours between us certainly made things hard, but it helped us to take things slow. For the next year after that Isaac and I traveled back-and-forth from California to Ohio every few months to see each other. Him : Finally in February 2020, she moved here! It was such a blessing because we finally had plans of how we were going to accomplish all we wanted to do together. From the beginning, I knew I wanted to marry this girl. So after all of this time I finally bought her dream ring and made amazing plans to propose.... These plans of course had to be changed due to this novel Covid-19. It was going to be a dream day where I surprised her with popping the question at Bethel and then all of her closest family and friends (and some of my own) show up in support. But sadly that didn’t end up working out. It went through a couple different changes but eventually we were able to get engaged in a wonderful intimate setting and have the privilege of all of our family and friends be there with us over Zoom! Now I get to marry the girl of my dreams!
