Our Story

At a glance, you never would have expected Isaac and Anna to have ever met. Even looking at their parents, if anything had gone differently, neither of them might have been born. If Anna’s parents had stayed in Russia, they likely would not have chosen to have a second child. And Isaac’s parents were able to keep him even though it was against the law. Against all odds, God intended for them to meet years later in Seattle, of all places, in 2024. "From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands." — Acts 17:26 Isaac and Anna met at a campus devotional in February 2024 and soon began to develop a deep friendship. A few months later, that friendship turned into interest, and as they began spending more intentional time getting to know one another, they eventually began dating in November 2024. For Anna, she initially was not interested in Isaac romantically, but as she got to know him and his character, she found herself really enjoying their conversations and the time they spent together. For Isaac, Anna was first a friend. As he got to know her better, he began to notice how many similarities they shared. He truly enjoys spending time with her and deeply admires the wonderful character and qualities she has. Isaac and Anna have been able to do many amazing things together, like leading a Bible discussion, traveling to Hawaii and Portland, hiking, attending several weddings, and trying many different kinds of food. All of this has led up to now: their engagement and future marriage. God has allowed them to grow a lot as individuals in their character, and also in where they are in life, and now He has appointed the time for them to become one. "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate." — Mark 10:7–9 We are so grateful to our loved ones for their support and are delighted to celebrate our union before God with you all very soon.
