We're getting married!

Sophomore year of high school, Iris and Nick sat on opposite ends at the lunch table with their own little friend groups. One day, Iris happened to switch seats with someone because she needed help from a mutual friend on a math test. That was the start of some casual conversations and both co-op and competitive phone games, which eventually led to a budding relationship. Iris and Nick spent the rest of high school together; they went to each other's athletic events to support one another, they danced multiple nights away at homecomings and prom, and ultimately, they graduated from Naperville North High School. During their undergraduate time, Iris attended University of Illinois at Chicago while Nick went to Aurora University. They would spend the weekends together as much as possible. Iris continued to support Nick's running career throughout the next four years and Nick was equally encouraging of the sorority Iris had joined. They took their first vacation together with Nick's family to Florida in 2022 where they got to swim with manatees! Iris and Nick both graduated with honors from their respective universities, and they were on to their next adventure! On May 9th, 2022, Iris was accepted into the Three Seas Program at Northeastern University to earn her Master's degree. Although it was scary, she and Nick decided to move out to Boston together to experience the joys of living in the same apartment and going on adventures together. The next year and a half was filled with ups and downs as the couple adjusted to living with one another while Iris was also traveling to various destinations for her program. Nonetheless, Nick was always supportive of Iris chasing her dreams, and Iris was forever grateful for such an understanding and caring partner. Nick proposed to Iris on July 17th, 2023 on a cliff near Wai'anapanapa Black Sand Beach after 600 grueling turns on the Road to Hana. Props to him for learning some Chinese to say to Iris during his proposal! Throughout the eight years they have been together, they've had their fair share of joy, sorrow, anger, and excitement. They have persevered through many obstacles that have been thrown at them. Besides getting married, their next adventure awaits them in Canada!
