14 years ago.. I arrived at my friend's house who was having a party. As soon as I got there, he told me I had to meet this girl with the most beautiful eyes. He introduced us and after just a few short moments I reached out my hand and asked, "Do you dance?" Irina smiled and nodded, grabbed my hand, and the rest was history.

What started out as a weekend getaway to Carmel turned into so much more! After stopping off for lunch at Forge in the Forest, we started a drive down 17 mile drive. Halfway down, Matt found the perfect spot to pull over at. As we walked closer to the water, he set up a drone and unbeknownst to me, began to film us. Before I knew it, Matt was down on one knee, holding up an extraordinary ring, asking for my hand in marriage. I was so surprised! It was such an exciting and surreal moment- we are both so happy! The cherry on top of the cake: Matt spent months teaching our dog, Phoenix, how to propose alongside him when he opened the ring box- and although she fumbled a little, she did great! Phoenix was proposing to me too! All in all- an amazing weekend away! 02/27/2021
