4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Since most of the ceremony is standing and the chapel is on a slightly uneven, paved hilltop, comfortable flat or low-heeled shoes are recommended. High heels on narrow or uneven paths can be tricky, so bring a backup pair if needed. It can get hot, so consider a hat or fan and don’t forget sunblock.
At the chapel, the Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony includes the blessing and exchange of rings, the crowning of the couple with ceremonial crowns (stefana), sharing wine from a common cup, and a symbolic walk around the altar. Please note that most of the ceremony is standing. After the ceremony, we will continue the celebration with a reception featuring food, music, and dancing at a different location, Limnoupolis, featuring food, music, and dancing.
7:00 pm
The venue has mostly soft grass, therefore we suggest to chose your footwear carefully and maybe avoid stilettos. There is a stage for dancing, therefore make sure to bring a pair of dancing shoes (or any backup to be able to party until late at night). It can get chilly in the evening so we suggest bringing a light jacket.
Limnoupolis Events is a beautiful venue just outside Chania, part of a larger leisure area that includes a water park. It offers elegant spaces for dining, dancing, and celebration, surrounded by the scenic Cretan countryside—making it a fun and memorable setting for your special day. We are NOT saying that we will have access to a pool we can jump in, but you never know what might happen.
