We know that getting married in the middle of the week is not super ideal or convenient for everyone. So here’s the why behind the date; we spent a lot of time looking at venues and dates. We hit the ground running with our planning. Little did we know how many weddings are already booked for 2024! We thought we were ahead of the game by looking a year out but that is simply not the case. We had a pretty specific vision for our wedding: Fall 2024 and something with a view. Chimney Pond Farm hits all the marks (especially the view). The catch was, in order to get our Fall 2024 wedding, we had to sacrifice a traditional weekend wedding. Clay and I met at a Halloween party in 2015. Almost as soon as I saw him, I knew I wanted to talk to him but I was a little nervous. We were all dressed in costumes, I was dressed as a boxer and he was dressed as Goose from Top Gun. I walked over to the area he was standing, saw some aviators sitting on the counter next to him and said "Are these your glasses?" and Clay said "yeah.." and went back to his conversation. About an hour later I was introducing myself to someone else at the party, all night had been introducing myself by my costume but this time I introduced myself by name. Clay happened to be standing nearby, heard my name, turned around and said "Did you say your name is Ireland?", I answered yes and the rest is history. Turned out he had heard my name before and that got the real conversation started. We talked and hung out the rest of the night and have been together ever since.

Clay and I have been visiting my grandparents at Amelia Island, FL since our first summer together. We always walked out to Beach Access 6 or 7 for our beach days. However, 2022 and 2023 have brought a lot of changes and it had been way too long since we had a vacation together, so we decided we would go to our favorite place, Amelia Island for vacation in August. Clay made sure to plan a date night for us, I didn't think much of it since date nights have been few and far between with our busy schedules. He insisted we walk out to the beach together after our nice dinner on the water. Of course, we walked out to Beach Access 7.. and this time there was a message in a bottle waiting for me. As I was opening the note Clay got down on one knee to ask the big question. Everything happened so fast, I had to stop and say "Did I say yes?" We've been writing our story for going on 8 years and we can't wait for everyone to help us write the next chapter!
