Even though we attended the same high school we only ever spoke to each other once and it was a two sentence dead end conversation. About a year after graduating we started messaging on social media and soon a friendship blossomed; one in which the word "bro" was used frequently just to set boundaries. Throwing caution to the wind and not caring how many miles would separate us or the things we would face we decided being friends wasn't enough anymore. After all the time apart and the trials life has thrown our way we can say we have always been each others better half and best friend.
