We met in Hatfield, Hertfordshire train station 7 years ago when we were both students. We became friends, grew up sharing common interests and hobbies, late night coffees and mamaks went by, plus chats on career and family. Quiet admiration and respect gradually grew into a friendship during the years full of crushes and dates with other boys and girls. It came about as a continual realization⎯a slow discovery of compliment and balance. 2018 changed our lives – after years of friendship, we met sometime in July to celebrate our birthdays (heck we even share the same birthday month, only 4 days apart). As we chatted, that’s pretty much when we thought, “Okay. This could be something.”

2 weeks after the official ceremony of merisik (asking for hand in marriage) ceremony, we went on a family trip to St. Regis Langkawi. Just a few minutes before sunset, we went into the Royal Mansion and he had arranged a surprise celebration with family. Touched and astonished, I looked over and saw him down on one knee, and he asked, 'Will you marry me?' We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in St. Regis!
