We had gone to school together since middle school but it wasn’t until sophomore year of high school when we had a class together that we met and became “friends” (loose term because while Ethan had interest in Lindsey, she had non in him). Lindsey was crazy about keeping her car clean and scratch free while Ethan was always running late so we both used the same two parking spaces everyday is the back of the school parking lot. One day someone took Ethans spot so he decided to take Lindseys but she had to make sure he knew so after snapping him and telling him it was rude to take her spot and not waiting to walk in with her plus a sushi date later the rest was history

To say this was the most expected unexpected proposal would be an understatement. I had thought for months it was going to happen but knew it wouldn’t happen anytime around my birthday since Ethan had made that clear so our date and day was completely ours. With only 3 days between my mom and mines birthday we had a full weekend of celebrating planned. This particular day we were going to have friends and family over for dinner and then all go out afterwards. I had just gotten the cutest sparkly martini dress for the occasion but with some convincing from my mom and sister I ended up in a completely different dress that fit what was happening perfectly. I had one request that when the time did come I wanted my best friend also known as my sister to be there. Knowing this Ethan insured that would happen and even had my mom and sister come in on the plan. I came down the stairs hearing that our crazy puppy was outside doing something she wasn’t suppose to so I go out there but instead find our Maple girl with a sign on her reading “Mom, will you marry my dad? He loves you very much! Xoxo, Maple.” I then went inside with my sister and family all around with Ethan on one knee and a ring in hand waiting for me.
