Your presence is the greatest present we could ask for, we are very grateful that so many people are willing to travel to spend our special day with us! However, should you wish to contribute to our honeymoon, in accordance with Romanian tradition, guests often offer a cash gift and you may do so on the day or via bank transfer.
The main difference will be that Romanian weddings usually start later and finish later. We'll be starting around 4pm and finishing around 4am, although guests are welcome to leave earlier, usually after the cake cutting around 1am. Another main difference is the food, with around 5 courses and dancing between each course. There will also be an open bar and table service throughout the night. While our wedding will be mostly Romanian in style, we will be incorporating some English aspects, such as speeches from the wedding party, which are not common at Romanian weddings. Of, course common to both types of wedding, we encourage everyone to enjoy themselves and party down!
Romania is very easy to get around via public transport and Uber/Bolt (especially in Bucharest) and most young people speak English so hopefully you shouldn't have any issues. The currency is the Romanian Leu (RON) with an approx. conversion of 5 lei: 1 GBP - Euros are not accepted but cards can be used in most locations and cash is useful for tipping - typically 10% or round up. Please let the bride and groom know if you have any further questions.
