Wedding Party

Our friends who have become family

Kelly Greenlee

Maid of Honor

Carrie met Kelly on her first day of college in 2009, and they soon became attached at the hip. By senior year, they were walking into the registrar’s office together to make sure they had the exact same class schedule. They’ve traveled to Florida, Savannah, New Orleans and Virginia (with a shared Google Doc, of course). From all you can eat sushi, to gym sessions, to movie nights, Kelly has been Carrie’s go-to person for 16 years. And even after all that time, they don’t hug…sticking to their signature head-bob acknowledgement.

Vince Abbate

Best Man

Dan met Vince during the fall of 2000 when they attended religion classes together, and shortly thereafter learned that their families were intertwined. During the following summer Dan went swimming at his parent’s friend’s house, and to his surprise, found Vince already in the pool. They have been inseparable ever since with a common love of music, telling of great jokes, and even attending the same university. Whether they are nerding out about Dream Theater or watching Batman, their bond only grows everyday, with Vince’s children screaming “UNCLE DAN!” anytime he comes to visit. From the stage all the way to his own wedding day, Dan calls Vince a brother, evermore.

Michelle Michal

Maid of Honor

Carrie met Michelle in 2018 at work, and from day one they just clicked. What started with volunteering together quickly became the kind of friendship that feels like it’s been there a lifetime. Carrie has made every birthday cake for Michelle’s daughters since the day they were born and proudly answers to “Auntie Carrie.” For the past 8 years, Michelle has been Carrie’s steady voice of reason, crafting buddy, and the friend with the same left-handed energy and obsession for almond or pistachio desserts.

James Miller

Best Man

Dan met James (JJ) in high school in 2004 through mutual friends who wanted to start a band. Dan brought over his keyboard and JJ with his brother Bob, began playing music in a small bedroom. They really bonded and grew, learning how to play the guitar together, and from there they moved into the garage, and the stage beyond. They always challenged one another to never give up on a dream. Even after the band years came to an end, they have been the best of friends and grown into family. JJ is Dan’s voice of reason and his go-to guy anytime anything breaks in the house. He is the Iron Man to Dan’s Captain America; a partner in crime and a brother until the end of time, telling endless dad jokes along the way.

Zach Michal

Officiant

Zach is Michelle’s husband and someone who brings the best energy to every situation. He’s always up for an adventure, and thanks to him, this group has a go-to spot for Korean BBQ and a standing tradition for group date nights. Zach is genuine, warm and so easy to talk to, we’re truly honored to have him leading our ceremony as our officiant.

Josh Nigg

Usher

Josh is Kelly’s husband and, whether he likes it or not, Carrie’s built-in best friend. For 16 years, Carrie happily played the third wheel in their relationship, showing up for any event, invited or not. Josh and Carrie share a dry, banter-filled sense of humor that’s completely their own. He will always make her a fancy latte before she inevitably falls asleep on their couch after dinner, and every year he cooks her birthday brunch with homemade eggs Benedict, now one of Carrie’s most cherished traditions.
