Matthew and I knew each other for a long time, but we never really spoke to each other until years later. There were several times where we saw each other in passing, but both of us are so introverted, we never said anything. We met by serving together at our local church. He ran the cameras on the production team, and I played keys for the worship team. Fast forward five years later to 2018, and Matthew's family had just moved to California. At that time, our church had Saturday evening services, and I always went out to dinner afterward with a group of friends. Our friend, Elle, started inviting Matthew out to dinner with us. From there, we began a friendship of sarcasm and lots of flirting. One day he followed me on Instagram, and we began messaging back and forth. We started going on dates, and a month later, he asked me to be his girlfriend. The last three years have only felt like three months, and I love how much fun we have together! Fun fact: when we began dating, we were so sarcastic that we had to make a safe word. The word we chose was Hufflepuff. We use this word as way of knowing when the other person is telling the truth and when we set all jokes aside. It's one of my favorite things about us and it's always helped us stay on the same page. We're both so excited for the next part in our journey, and we can't wait to celebrate our marriage with you! A special thank you to Aaron & Elle for being our chaperones at the beginning of our relationship ;)
