Our love story took a modern twist when we both swiped right at the beginning of 2020. Little did we know how quickly the world would change shortly after that, but for us, our worlds changed the moment we met. We met the first time at Amelie's French Bakery in Atlanta on February 17th, 2020 and what we were expecting to be a typical coffee date turned into seeing each other every day for a week straight. Falling in love in a pandemic is a little different. Tyler quickly became my rock. Through the scariness of the beginning of the pandemic we held each other down, and very quickly learned that we cannot live without each other. At the beginning of our relationship, Tyler and I spent a lot of time at home together- both at his apartment and mine. We would order takeout, cook together, play games together, and just enjoy each others company talking for hours on end. As time progressed and things began to open up little bit by little bit, we would spend time walking around Piedmont Park together, and playing with our dog- Tucker. Flash forward to 2021, Tyler was given an opportunity to move closer to his family in Charlotte, NC and asked me to join him. While it is scary moving two states away, we took a leap of faith and jumped together- we haven't looked back since. We have spent our time in Charlotte falling more and more in love with each other learning to navigate life together. We are each others best friends, and deciding to take this next step together in marriage was the easiest of both of our lives.
On December 18, 2021 Tyler asked me to marry him. As has become our tradition, we celebrate Christmas separately just the two of us ahead of the date. This was the case that year. The night before, we went to Belmont Botanical Gardens to view the lights, and I was convinced that it would happen then. While the night was romantic, it came and went with no proposal, but I knew my guy and knew that there was a plan for the start of our future. The next morning was our "Christmas", and I woke up to the faint sound of Christmas music playing. I walked down our stairs to see that he had turned on the "fireplace" on the TV and all of our Christmas lights. We began opening presents and before I knew it I had opened a gorgeous white church ornament. For some insight- Tyler knows how much I love ornaments, and how much it means to me to collect ornaments for all of the big moments in our life. Upon seeing it- I knew. Tyler got on one knee in our living room and asked me to spend forever with him. Tyler and I always say "when you know, you know", and that was very much the case for both of us. Not only are we the same person, but we love each other fiercely. Thank you for joining us on this journey for the start of the rest of our lives.
