The Inn has a beautiful flower garden in front and the gorgeous Sound in back so we would love our event to compliment the Coastal Gardens surrounding us. Our wedding colors are Greens & Blues highlighted with Yellows & Oranges. We'd love if everyone coordinated within those colors as well! Wear light fabrics, breathable materials, and colors that complement the Outer Banks backdrop. We will be outside (on a covered deck) for the ceremony, dinner and reception so consider a light layer when the sun goes down. There will be access to the Inn's indoor restaurant area with AC if you need a break from the heat. Attire should lean Semi-Formal & Coastal: Men: A button-down long sleeve shirt (tie optional), sports jacket if you'd like, with chinos or dress pants and dress shoes or loafers. Light, linen-type materials are very fitting for the venue! Colors; Light Greens, Blues, Tan/Khaki, Peach. Women: A knee-length, midi dress, or beachy maxi-dress. Temperatures are usually High 60's - Low 80's in May in this area. Consider packing a light cover-up layer for night time around the fire pit.
We recommend arriving Thursday afternoon to settle in and enjoy the start of the weekend! Most of our close family and friends will be checking in that day, with light mingling, paddleboarding, and casual dinners happening around the Inn. The main wedding events will take place Friday and Saturday, and departures are Sunday morning.
Thursday: arrivals, free the explore Hatteras Island, go to the oceanside beach, paddleboard or kayak the sound, casual dinners. Any guests not staying at the Inn are still welcome to take advantage of all amenities the Inn has to offer (pool, water activities, ect). Friday: breakfast at the Inn, free day to explore Buxton, bridal party rehearsals. Saturday: ceremony begins at 5:00pm, cocktail hour, dinner and reception until 10:00pm. Sunday: Inn Brunch, goodbyes and departures after breakfast A detailed itinerary will be provided closer to the date.
