We do not recommend it for a few reasons. First, if you stay offsite, you'll need to pay a fee to access our resort on the wedding day. Second, we have events planned at Dreams Playa Mujeres the day before the wedding that we’d love for you to join. Lastly, staying at the same resort allows us all to spend more time together!
𝐘𝐄𝐒. The dress code is semi-formal: suits, gowns, and cocktail dresses are encouraged. Shoes: The reception is in the grass, I recommend shoes where your heels won’t sink!
Due to limited space, we can only accommodate the guests who are formally invited on your wedding invitation. However, we understand this may also be a vacation for you too. If you wish to bring someone who is okay with not participating in wedding events, that's perfectly fine with us! Just ensure they understand they won't be able to join the wedding activities. Thank you for your understanding!
According to my web search: In Playa Mujeres, a typical day in October ranges from a high of 84°F to a low of 75°F. The weather will be mostly sunny with some chances of occasional showers. Humidity levels will be relatively high, making it feel warmer than the actual temperature.
The entire wedding event is outdoors. The reception will take place at the Central Garden and the ceremony will take place over the water at the pool closest to the Central Garden at Dreams Playa Mujeres!
We will be staying October 8 (Wednesday) - October 18 (Saturday), you are welcome to join any of the days that work best for you.
Yes, you will need a passport to attend our wedding. Please don't wait too long to apply or renew, as processing times could take up to 8 weeks.
Yes, some restaurants have a dress code particularly for dinner. Each restaurant lists the dress code on the website: www.hyattinclusivecollection.com/en/resorts-hotels/dreams/mexico/playa-mujeres-golf-spa-resort/dining-drinks/ *For 𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 some restaurants require a “𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞” dress code which is: Sneakers/tennis shoes or dress sandals, dress shirts with short/long sleeves or polo shirts. Long pants required for men. No sleeveless shirts or flip-flops.
Yes. How much you want to bring is really up to you. This is an all inclusive resort but it is still standard to tip the workers for their service. We always love the service in Mexico and particularly at Dreams Playa Mujeres and tip accordingly. We recommend bringing small bills $1, $5, and $10 (shuttle driver, bell hop, servers, bartenders, housekeeping, room service) as the resort may not always be able to accommodate changing large bills.
• We generally bring tumbler cups for pool days to keep our drinks cold and so that frozen drinks don’t melt super fast! • If you prefer using a straw in your drink, please keep in mind that they provide paper straws so you may want to bring your own.🍹 • Bring lots of sunscreen, buying sunscreen at the resort is expensive…bug spray might not be a terrible idea either! • Beach Bag: A lightweight beach bag can be handy for carrying essentials to the pool or beach. 🏝️
